MARGO'S ANIMAL SANCTUARY
News

As from July 2006 the Tax Office introduced new general categories for Deductible Gift Recipients (DGR's). As a result, Animal Welfare Charities are now eligible to apply to be a DGR. The A.T.O has recently endorsed our organisation, so your donations and gifts to us are now tax deductible. This is great news for all Animal Welfare Groups in Australia, and a help to our kind donors.
Our entity name is Maltreated Animal Rescue Group Origin Logan City (M.A.R.G.O) Inc.

MARGO TURNS 61 YEARS SUNDAY. . .
"MY BIRTHDAY". . . . .
I opened my weary eyes
Awoke alive to my surprise
Looked out to see blue skies
Frame a sun about to rise.
No one to say "Happy Birthday"
Like always. . .just another day.
I have accepted  my life's choice
As I woke I heard a familiar voice
With bags in hand my lovely son
"Happy Birthday Mum you're 61`"
Tears welled up in my tired eyes
This was indeed a lovely surprise
The road less travelled now paved
With many lives together we saved
"Happy Birthday & Mother's Day too
I brought food & presents for you
For 35 years January to December
Saving animals far back as I remember
I was eye-witness to your life-story
Triumphs & tragedies moments of glory
On your talent to write we are all sold
Your books will result in best selling gold
Inplace of in gumboots hosing a cage
You will step out in style singing on stage
Your songs & poems a message you tell
I have no doubts of how well they will sell
For 35 years mother I watch you do it tough
But I think 35 years of sacrifice is now enough
Others must follow and learn all this from you
Or I fear my mother will not reach sixty-two"
I sat in silence as wise words he did speak
He sees I am weary & worn but never weak
His present a wooden photo-box I am in tears
Says "this is to hold memories of your 35 years".
Then he was leaving he kissed me goodbye
I did not want him to go. . .I began to cry
Alone once more I looked back over my life
With it's glorious victories amid  setbacks & strife
Gumboots on my feet and a hose in my hand
I thanked God I'm alive & live in this great land
Alone yes but not lonely for what did I see
For four-legged creatures all around me
Fluffy tails were a-wagging as I shed a tear
I am mum to 250 creatures I rescued here
My feeling of sadness vanished into thin air
No fancy clothes no make-up or styled hair
I thanked God and his angels up above
I was surrounded by. . .just so much love
And I sang to them my best of Patsy Cline
Knowing I had withstood the test of time
I have my animals, my friends my darling son
It's great to be alive and live to turn sixty one!
