Neither of these is the father of this gosling
They "stole" it off its young parents who were not watching it closely enough
They have taught it how to greenpick and they allow it to nestle under them to keep warm
They will protect it against anything or anyone
They chased the herd of goats who got too close
They have raised countless "orphans" even kittens
They will guard a cat in a hospital cage
